T h e o r i g i n a l f o r m o f t h i sregulation was published on 1 September1986. Since that time, changes have beeni s s u e d t o a m e n d t h e o r i g i n a l . A s o f 3August 1987, permanent changes 1 and 2remained in effect. This UPDATE printingincorporates all of those changes directlyinto the body of text. This publication hasb e e n r e o r g a n i z e d t o m a k e i t c o m p a t i b l ew i t h t h e A r m y e l e c t r o n i c p u b l i s h i n gdatabase. No content has been changed.
S u m ma r y.
Th is reg ulati on imp l emen t s guidance in DOD directive 1308.1, dated29 June 1981, which establishes a weightcontrol program in all the Services.
Applicability.
This regulation applies toa l l m e m b e r s o f t h e A c t i v e A r m y , t h eArmy National Guard (ARNG), and theU.S. Army Reserve (USAR) to includethose ARNG and USAR personnel in Ac-tive Guard/Reserve (AGR) status.
Proponent and exception authority.
The proponent agency of this regulation isthe Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel.
Army management control process.
This regulation is subject to the require-ments of AR 11–2. It contains internalcontrol provisions but does not containchecklists for conducting internal controlr e v i e w s . T h e se c h e c k l i sts w i l l be c o n - tained in a DA Circular in the 11 series.
