ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a graphicrecording of the electrical potentials producedby the cardiac tissue.
 –Electrical impulse formation occurs within theconduction system of the heart. –Excitation of the muscle fibers throughout themyocardium results in cardiac contraction.
The ECG is recorded by applying electrodes tovarious locations on the body surface andconnecting them to a recording apparatus.
