All of Allaah's Names are beautiful, meaning that they reach the utmost limits of beauty. Allaah, the Exalted, has said:

And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah. [7:180]
Each and every Name of Allaah that is a reference to Himself also includes the Most Perfect and MostBeautiful Attribute that can be understood from the language of that Name. With that, they can have nodeficiencies or imperfections in anyway whatsoever unlike the names of the creation. For example, someonecan be called with a good and noble name in meaning, yet he is deficient in the characteristic that the namerepresents, i.e. a man named Kareem (generous) yet you may find him to be stingy at times. Allaah is beyondand above that. Each and every Name of His includes a description that is Perfect without any deficienciesor limits. An example of this is that
Al-Hayy
(the Ever-Living) is a Name of Allaah the Exalted, and it includes the Attribute of perfect Life. Some people wonder: How can Allaah have life if life is preceded by birth and followed by death? The answer is: When we affirm life for Allaah, it is not like the life that we know as created beings. Our lives were preceded by birth and our lives will followed by death. Yet Allaah's life was neither preceded by birthnor will it be followed by death. So it includes the Attribute of perfect Life, not preceded by absence, norfollowed by death. It has no deficiency whatsoever.Such Life that Allaah has necessitates other perfect Attributes as well, like perfect Hearing, Sight, Knowledge, and unlimited Capabilities. Another example is that
Al-`Aleem
(the All-Knowing) is one of Allaah's Names.
Al-`Aleem
comes from the word
`ilm
. So
Al`Aleem
means one who possesses
`ilm
.
Al-`Aleem
includes perfect Knowledge, not precededby ignorance, nor followed by forgetfulness. Any knowledge that we possesses has been preceded by ignorance,
knowledge is only the result of gaining it
. Soanyone who has knowledge from us now is because they sought it and it was preceded by ignorance, meaning they were ignorant of what they know. Likewise much of the knowledge that we have now will be followedby forgetfulness or weakness in memory. All of these things are impossible to be understood when we talk about knowledge of Allaah (
subhaanahu wa ta`aala
). Allaah's Knowledge is Perfect, Comprehensive, All-Encompassing detailed Knowledge that has deficiency, nolimit and no restrictions as Allaah (
subhaanahu wa ta`aala
) is beyond all of these ideas. Allaah, the Exalted, has said:
