beheldWednesday,August15,2008.MotionCarriedChairmanBulmandiscussedtheupcoming2007-2008schoolyeartostartaroundSeptember10,2008.Heinformedthe TrusteesandCoordinatorsthatEdBartholomew,AssistantCounseltotheMajoritywouldbearrivingshortlytodiscuss ourpendinggrant.CoordinatorsFurrandWhippleoutlinedtheneedforweldingequipmentandPlasmaCuttersfortheir trainingcenters.ChairmanBulmaninformedthemthathewaswaitingforapproval
of
a
New
YorkStateGrant
or
aUnitedAssociationGrantthathewasintheprocess
of
puttingtogether. ChairmanBulmandistributedfinancialreportsfortheJATCBuildingCorporationandtheApprenticeshipFund.Ed Bartholomewarrivedat6:05pmandChairmanBulmanaskedtheTrusteesandCoordinatorstotakethedetailedfinancial reportshomewiththemtoreviewattheirleisure.AfterintroducingEdBartholomew,LarrygaveafullreportonthelnternationalApprenticeshipCompetition.He explainedtoallpresentthatitwasthefirsttimeinover30years,thattheUnitedAssociationhadheldthiscompetition.There
Were
fourdisciplinesinwhichtocompete.EveryLocalintheUnitedStatesandCanadawasallowedtosendoneapprenticeforeachdiscipline.Thedisciplinesare:Plumbing,Pipefitting,Welding,andHVAC-R.Local773sentApprenticeChristopherBaxter
to
competeinthePlumbingCompetitionheldinLongIsland.ChrisplacedfirstintheStateCompetition.ApprenticeTimothyGuidonwassenttocompeteinthePipefirtingCompetitionheldinAlbany.Timplacedfirstaswell.ApprenticeColinLinehanwassenttocompeteintheWeldingCompetitionheldinOswego.Colinplacedfifthinthecompetition.
