What Facebook Lite is?
Facebook Lite is a simplified version of the Facebook platform. The social media news fromtechnology news sites like TechCrunch and Mashable have reported that it is almost like a Twitter
(Twitter) stream: you can see your most recent status updates and the updates of your friends. Andon the left-hand side, there is navigation with four main categories: Wall, Info, Friends, and Photos& Videos. The Facebook Lite interface will feature just one column design accompanied by couple of links tothe different sections of the Facebook, like Friends, Wall, etc. The Lite interface comes withsimplified action buttons to write message or post and share media files.Reportedly, Facebook is testing this new interface to entice new users. But many existing Facebook users will welcome the new, simplified design as well.As mentioned, the Facebook Lite resembles Twitter: one can see the most recent status updates of their own and their friends, and can post their own status updates via simple interface. With thelighter interface, Facebook steps closer to Twitter, perhaps trying to fight the simplicity of Twitterwith simpler design of their own. On the other hand, the lighter interface resembles that of FriendFeed, which Facebook acquired for hefty $50 million.
