Mr.… (More) Arash Shamsian maintains a lifelong passion to launch a career within the medical field. The vocational desire began in his childhood but took hold during his high school career. Mr. Shamsian attended Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet Senior High School, where he conducted research and focused on the study of sciences. Under the guidance of Dr. Ebrahim Zandi, Mr. Shamsian gained valuable comprehension of cancer research. This experience further cemented his certainty in his career choice.

To pursue a medical degree, Arash Shamsian enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He focused on biochemistry and earned a Bachelor of Science in the discipline in 2005. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Shamsian also attended classes at the Los Angeles campus of the University of California. There he took classes in molecular genetics as well as cellular, developmental, and molecular neurobiology. Also during his collegiate career, Mr. Shamsian supplemented his medical knowledge through volunteer work at the Labor and Delivery Unit at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. This cumulative experience encouraged his matriculation to the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG).

The oldest private medical school in Mexico, UAG is widely considered one of the most efficient and well-organized of its kind throughout Latin America. Arash Shamsian gained a broad range of medical knowledge as well as personal growth. The experience of serving impoverished communities in rural Mexico gave him a global perspective on his future profession. Mr. Shamsian earned a physician-surgeon degree from the prestigious institution in 2011.

Currently, Arash Shamsian continues his education at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. Through a Pre-Internship Program from New York Medical College, he is gaining postgraduate training similar to a resident physician. He endeavors to become an exceptional physician and spend several years treating patients where resources are scarce and medical need is the greatest. (Less)
