Sino-Canadian cooperation agreement signed

2005-04-07 14:47:00COC Website Duan Shijie, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport and vice-president of the Chinese Olympic Committee, met with the visiting Canadian Olympic Committeedelegation headed by Executive President Chris Rudge at the GASC headquarters inBeijing on April 6, 2005. The two sides signed the sports cooperation agreement betweenthe two NOCs.As Canada was the host country for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Summer Games and the1988 Calgary Winter Games and will go on to host the 2010 Winter Games, Duan Shijiesaid, China has a lot to learn from Canada in the organization of the Games. As China isstronger in summer events while Canada prevails in winter sports, he added, there will belots of opportunities of cooperation for sports circles of the two countries.
