INTRODUCTION
This is the fourth edition of my Wild Bunch playbook, andcoaches will find that the theme of this version is a focus onessentials. I have pruned away all but the absolute essence ofthe offense, and I urge coaches to concentrate first onperfecting the 20 plays(at the high school level) that definethe core Wild Bunch attack before they look at adding more.There is definitely variation within simplicity, however, socoaches who subscribe to the “toolbox” theory of offensivedesign need not worry that I will tell them they can build ahouse with only a hammer and a pair of pliers. The tools youneed to succeed are here -- your job is to perfect their use byyour team.
