Central Illinois 9/12 Project to Distribute Food Thursday
Part of national
Random Acts of Kindness Day

Grocery bags filled with food will be delivered to thosein need in Springfield and surrounding communities on Thursday, courtesy ofthe Central Illinois 9/12 Project. The announcement was made by Erin Tallon,lead organizer of the group.
―9/12 groups across the country are very attuned to the challenging
e
conomic times many of our fellow citizens are facing,‖ said Tallon. ―As part of a
national 9/12 event called
Random Acts of Kindness Day,
our Central Illinoisgroup decided to collect canned goods and other non-perishables and donatethem to those in need. Catholic Charities was kind enough to provide direction
to us for the types of items that seem to be in particular need.‖
 All food donated in the Springfield area will be gathered at the JCPenneyparking lot noon to 1:00 p. m., loaded into vans, and delivered to Grace
Ministries, Inner City Mission, Salvation Army, and St. John’s Bread Line.
 
―We don’t know for certain the type of response we’ll receive from ourmembers,‖ said Tallon. ―The Central Illinois 9/12 Project consists of scores of
