ABOUT DEMOS
D
ēmos is a non-partisan public policy research and advocacy organization. Headquarteredin New York City, Dēmos works with advocates and policymakers around the country inpursuit of four overarching goals: a more equitable economy; a vibrant and inclusive de-mocracy; an empowered public sector that works for the common good; and responsible U.S. en-gagement in an interdependent world. Dēmos was founded in 2000.In 2010,Dēmos entered into a publishing partnership with Te American Prospect, one of the na-tions premier magazines focussing policy analysis, investigative journalism, and forward-looking so-lutions for the nation’s greatest challenges.

 Viany Orozco
 joined Dēmos in October 2008 to provide research and analysis on the econom-ic challenges facing young people, with a particular focus on state-based policy solutions. She hasco-authored several reports on postsecondary success, including

. As a researcher at MDRC and the Drug Policy Alliance,Viany’s previous work focused on program evaluation and drug policy. She has a B.A. in politicalscience from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Pubic Aairs from Princeton University 
Lucy Mayo
has over 10 years of experience working on public policy issues in the non-prot andgovernment sectors. Lucy has worked in local and state government and at national policy and com-munity based service organizations. She has experience in a number of issue areas including welfarereform, voting rights, education, reproductive rights and health and human services. Prior to com-ing to Demos in 2010, Lucy was Vice President of Development at each For America – New York City. Prior to each For America, Lucy was the Policy Director for New York City Council.
