Early in his...view moreIn addition to his Brookline, Massachusetts, private practice, Dr. Alan Fisch’s four-decade career includes a substantial number of leadership positions in psychiatry. Early in his career, he founded and directed the Tri-City Mental Health Center and the East Boston Drug Program. Dr. Alan Fisch has served as Medical Director of the Washingtonian Center for Addictions and Framingham Day Hospital, as well as Director of Beth Israel Hospital’s family and couples therapy program.
In 1992, Dr. Alan Fisch founded the Psychiatric Network of Massachusetts, Inc., and served as its Director for six years. The former Mental Health Director of Partners Health Care’s MetroWest RSO, Dr. Fisch became Addiction Medicine Associates’ Director of Psychiatry in 2003, a position he still holds today.
Throughout his career, Alan Fisch, MD, has served in multiple roles in conjunction with his leadership positions at Massachusetts medical facilities. Beginning in 1970, the doctor held three staff appointments over the next 30 years at facilities in Boston, Framingham, and Waltham. He also possesses more than 40 years of experience as a psychiatric consultant.
Dr. Alan Fisch brought his expertise to the realm of academia as well. From 1970 to 1995, he was a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. During his time at Harvard, the psychiatrist also taught at two other schools in Massachusetts. He instructed family therapy at Lesley University and was an assistant professor in the Tufts University School of Medicine.
Beyond his clinical and professional positions, Dr. Alan Fisch has been a member of several boards. He is a former Chair of the Psychiatric Network of Massachusetts, the Society for Family Therapy and Research’s Education Committee, and the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health’s Corporate Committee. In addition to serving on the Mental Health Committee of Bay State Health Care, the doctor is the former treasurer of the Family Firm Institute in Boston.
Alan Fisch, MD, earned board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He holds multiple certifications and most recently obtained Diplomate status with the American College of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Alan Fisch received his doctoral degree in medicine from Tufts University and completed his residency at the New England Medical Center. He participated in two fellowships, at the Dartmouth Medical Center and Boston State Hospital.view less
