Executive Summary
The National Youth Environment Forum (NYEF) is organised by theEnvironmental Challenge Organisation (Singapore) and provided aninteractive platform for youth to engage in discussions on variousenvironment issues and policies, and to take action. The theme isBeyond Awarenessand focused on bridging the gap from inaction toaction and from superficial knowledge to holistic, enlightenedunderstanding.The invited speakers on the topics of Technology, Business/Economics,Social/Attitudes, Legislation, and Media set the stage for a livelypresentation and discussion with the youth participants on the differentaspects to approach environmental issues.This was followed by a fruitful caucus discussion on the following topics:1.
 
Reducing our Carbon Footprint;2.
 
Rethinking our Waste;3.
 
Conserving our Biodiversity, and4.
 
Sustainable Food and Water.The participants expressed concerns and improvements in some areas,and suggested several recommendations and potential projects forimplementation after the forum.On the topic of Reducing our Carbon Footprint, the participants wouldlike to see more engagement with the private sector throughdeveloping green guidelines and awarding incentives.
