26 enthusiastic volunteers, including 23 from Starbucksparticipated in this audit. At 9.15am, a briefing wasconducted to run through with the volunteers the procedure to followwhen visiting the residents.Once the volunteers were clear on their tasks they were told to divideinto pairs. At 9.45am, the volunteers collected their logistics. Each group wouldget a reusable bag containing the resident info sheets, energy auditchecklists, volunteer infosheet, sample utilities bill, a clipboard, starstickers, and energy-saving flyers and stickers, energy saving lightbulbs,as well as an energy monitor. The volunteers then fanned out tothe various blocks. The volunteers were tasked to usethe energy monitor to measurethe energy used by variousappliances, and then calculatethe electricity costs involved. Thiswould help the resident to have abetter understanding of wherethey can make the biggestimpact. Interesting phenomenonsuch as standby or “vampire”power were also quantified. The residents were then given a Philips energy-saving lightbulb as well asflyers and stickers from e2Singapore.By 11.45am, all the volunteers had completed their allocated units andreturned to the Community Hall. After the logistics were collected, a debrief was conducted for eachindividual group. At 12.30pm, the programme officially ended.
Results
A total of 48 households went through the energy audit. Most of the restwere not at home or were too busy.

Feedback
There were a lot more volunteers this time compared to the previous 2audits, thus allowing each pair to spend more quality time with theresidents. Also, although we had more logistics bags than there werevolunteers, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as those pairs whofinished early could take another bag and continue. The key difference this time was the use of energy monitors. Feedbackfrom the residents was extremely positive, most of whom were reallyfascinated at being able to find out the sources of energy usage.
