After building strategic trial skills for two years, he next assumed the role of Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. Promoted after three years, Evan Slavitt next undertook the position of Deputy Chief of the Civil Division for one year. Moving into the private sector in 1987, he joined the legal firm of Fine & Ambrogne. After working with a number of prestigious firms over the years, in 2003, he established his own practice with a longtime friend and colleague. The firm of Bodoff & Slavitt LLP focused on complex litigation cases in corporate arenas such as antitrust, disclosures, accounting disputes, and healthcare fraud. Accepting a new role in 2006, Evan Slavitt assumed the post of Director for consulting firm The Colchester Group, LLC, in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Responsible for the oversight of banks and corporations, Mr. Slavitt provided expert advice on finance and operational matters, as well as consultation for Chapter 11 reorganizations. Today, Evan Slavitt functions as Vice President for Business and Legal Affairs for the AVX Corporation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. An international manufacturing company, Mr. Slavitt's role as a member of the executive team assists the corporation in the acquisition of intellectual property through private deals and auctions. He additionally serves as a member of the Cash Management Committee, negotiating and reviewing contracts and corporate agreements. As a legal professional, Evan Slavitt maintains membership in a number of industry-related support organizations. Mr. Slavitt is a member of the Supreme Court Bar, and the bars of the United States Court of Appeals for the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Eleventh Judicial Circuits. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Association of Corporate Counsel.view less
