The Ramey Report

Feb. 2007 Issue 2
Bienvenidos! Welcome to our next edition. We trust you are staying warmin this very cold weather. In Ohio, the ice on the trees has been so beautiful. No one can decorate like God! We are looking forward to warmer weather inMexico. Our next step in our move south is to go as a family. We will be goingdown to San Marcos for 4 weeks in March and April. The girls have neverflown or left the country. It will be an adventure. We let the girls help pick out our plane seats. The adventure begins in Columbus, then off to Chicago, then onto Houston, finally into Guadalajara. There, William Cooke will pick us up and drive us the hour and a half to San Marcos. Our home away fromhome will be the hotel that we hope to purchase for the Children’s Home. This is a very rustic, but beautiful hotel. There are several rooms and wewould have plenty of space. We will be able to live there, have theChildren’s Home and still host visiting short and long term mission teams. Please pray that all goes well with that and we can go ahead with the downpayment. The Children’s Home will be called Face of My Father Children’sHome or El Rostro de mi Padre, Hogar Para Ninos. While we are down in San Marcos, God has provided us with severalthings to work on. Mainly, we are praying for wisdom in this decision. Thatwe move when He calls us, and are ready to do what He asks of us. That Heguides us in this time and sends us wise council. That our family prayertimes are renewing and that our family works as a team. We pray Jesusstrengthens us and grows us closer together. That William and Katie Cookeare sensing this also. That they are encouraged by our visit. On our plans also, we will be working on the paperwork and the downpayment of the hotel. Language study, hablo espanol?? The construction of the second part of the church. Going into Guadalajara to see the orphanagesand how they are run. We will be visiting some of the hospitals in that areaalso. More language study. Teaching the girls how to wash clothes by handon a stone washboard. Cooking the Mexican way and learning new recipies.Shopping and learning how to count out the correct amount of pesos andgetting the correct change back. We would like to do some friendshipevangelism in the town if our Spanish is good enough. As you can see, we will be busy. If all goes as planned, then we will comehome with a place to move to in September.
