The shock and mental trauma felt when people learn all their investments and life savings were stolen; is amplified when it was someone they knew and trusted! When the thief turns out to be their local banker; or their savings and loan association manager, how could something like this even happen? Today; criminals wear suits to work, travel first-class, and portray/depict the life of a successful businessman. Who would ever associate them with the criminal profile the public has been conditioned to accept? Don’t criminals look like; ah, criminals? A recent news article almost declares the futility of fighting white-collar criminals. The FBI wants to pay more attention to fighting terrorism instead. I will include the entire article because of its relevance to this paper.
