AN ISLAMIC JUDICIAL QUERYQUESTION:
What is the ruling of the Ulema of Islam on the followingmatter:Zaid, who is a Muslim and believes in Almighty Allah andthe Prophethood of his beloved Prophet (sallal laahu alaihiwasallam), recites after every Salaah and at other times, thefollowing verses: As Salaatu Was Salaamu Alaika YaRasoolullah - "Peace and Blessings upon you, O Messenger of Allah." Or As Alukash Shafaa'atu Ya Rasoolullah - "Iseek from you Shafaa'at (Intercession), O Messenger of Allah."I ask the learned Scholars of Islam:(1) Are such calls to the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihiwasallam) permitted in Islam?(2) What is the ruling of the Learned Scholars concerningindividuals who refer to those who call to the Prophets andSaints as Kaafirs and Mushriks?Please enlighten us on this. We pray that you enjoythe mercy of Allah on the Day of Judgement. Aameen.
ANSWER:
Alhamudullilahi wa Kafaa Was Salaatu WasSalaamu alaa Habeebihil Mustafa wa Aalihi Wa AshaabihiOolis Sidqi Was Safaa. The utterance of the above wordsare indeed permitted and no person other than those whoare misled would argue with it. For reference on thismatter, we shall consult the following great Jurists of Islamand their books:-
