I grew up in Chicago, Illinois. I earned a BS in Physics and Mathematics at Eastern New Mexico University and graduated in 1972. I later obtained a teaching certificate in physics, math, adult education, and special education (learning disabled). I taught in each of those areas and I also worked as a computer programmer for the department of nuclear medicine and radiation oncology at UMC in Tucson, Arizona.
