Don't give up on world peace. But don't expect to experience it in our lifetime. Is capitalism a religion? The government? It is for some. Even if we did all accept each others religions and become pluralist societies, human nature drives some people to step over others to get where they are going. Not necessarily because "God" told them to, but rather survival of the fittest. The best chance of pluralism right now is to create sustainable societies so that people feel that their life is secure enough to stop fighting to ensure their survival.
