Metal leafing
& foiling
Metallic oils and lea add depth, brilliance, andtextural interest to dyed and printed abric. Thesehigh-contrast accents are best added at the end othe layering process because each is susceptibleto damage rom the caustic properties o soda ashand discharge agents. Neither is absorbent, whichhinders the use o textile paint or a resist onceoil or leang is applied to the cloth. Although theapplication process or both accents is the same, the visual qualities dier, so it’s useul to knowhow to use both leang and oils.
