Monobond Plus

Instructions for Use

Description

Monobond Plus is a single-component primer promoting anadhesive bond between luting composites (particularly theVariolink and Multilink product lines) and all indirectrestorative materials (glass and oxide ceramics, metal,composites, fiber-reinforced composites).

Composition

Alcohol solution of silane methacrylate, phosphoric acidmethacrylate and sulphide methacrylate.

Indication

Monobond Plus serves as bonding agent and is used tocreate a durable chemical bond between luting compositesand glass/oxide ceramic, metal, composite and fiber-reinforced composite restorations.

Contraindications

– Any use not listed in the indications.– If a patient is known to be allergic to any of theingredients of Monobond Plus.

Side effects

To date, no systemic side effects are known.In rare cases, components of Monobond Plus may lead tosensitization. Monobond Plus should not be used in suchcases.

Interactions

Contamination with saliva, blood or water must absolutelybe avoided during the entire procedure.

IMPORTANT!

In order to create a strong bond, donot clean the oxide ceramic surfaces with phosphoricacid.1.1.4 Metal or metal-supported restorations– Sandblast the restoration surface (sandblasting para-meters according to the instructions of the manufac-turer of the restorative material) until an even, mattor non-glossy surface has been achieved.– If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonicunit for about 1 minute.– Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free air.–

IMPORTANT!

In order to create a strong bond, donot clean the metal surfaces with phosphoric acid.1.1.5 Composite or fiber-reinforced composite restorations– Sandblast the restoration surface (according to theinstructions of the manufacturer of the restorativematerial).– If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonicunit for about 1 minute.– Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free air.1.2 Apply Monobond Plus with a brush or a Microbrushto the pre-treated surfaces.Allow the material toreact for 60 seconds. Disperse with a strong streamof air.1.3 Apply the luting composite (e.g.Variolink

II,Variolink

Special notes

– Contamination with saliva,blood or water must absolute-ly be avoided during the entire procedure.In case of con-tamination,the entire treatment of the restoration is tobe repeated (see section 1).– If the primer dries out on the surface of the restorationbefore blasting with a strong stream of air,the surfaceneeds to be rinsed with pure alcohol and blown with air.–

IMPORTANT!

In order to create a strong bond,do notclean the zirconium oxide surfaces with phosphoric acid.– Do not insert the brush into the Monobond Plus bottle.This may lead to contamination.– Carefully close the Monobond Plus bottle immediatelyafter use to prevent evaporation of the solvent.

Warning

– Flammable.– The product contains ethanol.Keep away from ignitionsources.– Monobond Plus is an irritant.– Avoid contact with the skin and mucous membrane.If thematerial should accidentally come in contact with theskin,immediately wash with copious amounts of water.– In rare cases,contact with the skin may lead to sensitiza-tion towards the ingredients.– Commercial medical gloves do not provide protectionagainst the sensitizing effect of methacrylates.

Storage

– Monobond Plus should never be used after the expirationdate.– Storage temperature:2–28 °C / 36–82 °F.– Shelf life:see expiry date on label.

Wechselwirkungen

Eine Kontamination mit Speichel, Blut oderWasser währenddes ganzenVorganges ist unbedingt zu vermeiden.
