JedDiamondPhD scribbled: If we don't wait until the last minute, we won't have to run for the lifeboats. In this case the "life-boats" are a stable way of life that is based on a local economy, with local food, a culture less dependent on oil-based ways of making a living. Think of it as the way of life that many of us grew up in. Fewer things and more time for the experiences that money can't buy. The future isn't an apocalyptic collapse of all life, but a return to a life that is sustainable. I suggest many ways in which this future way of life will be much better than what we have been living.

JedDiamondPhD scribbled: Passion can be regained, but can sometime feel like its lost. I work with men and women all the time who complain, "I love..., but I'm not in love with.... Usually what they mean is that the passion has gone out of the relationship. Some passion comes from "falling in love" and the excitement of someone new. But there is passion that comes from deep love and commitment and sexual desire and longing, and liking and wanting. I do a lot of therapy with people who want to learn to recapture the passion they have lost.

Why Men Kill: From Ft. Hood to Your Hometown

ProfessorJane: Hi, Jed. Thank you for your kind words. It is awful sometimes to look into the life histories of boys who have experienced trauma.
