REACHING GOALS
By: Jessie Upp, M.S.I have a historyof setting two year goals andreaching them. In the past, they were statementslike: "In two years, I will...
…have a beautiful family."
...have finished my Master's Degree inManagement & Leadership."
...be living in my own home in anidealistic townwith a backdropof woods."
...own my ownsocial entrepreneurialbusiness."
...teach leadership at a level of professor using myteachingphilosophy."

...have my son go to an ideal K-8 school that will support hisenergy & curious learning style."I have always reached my written goals. My goals are always designedto enrich my life and those around me. The universe wants to helpthose who are motivated for experiencing an enriching life so Iimmensely enjoy helping others achieve their desired results.I've reflected on the specific actions that helped me reach my goalsand want to share them with you (see #8). I continue to share thefollowing 10 points in my writings and talks around self-basedleadership.1)
Write your intended result down.
By declaring your achievedgoal (a.k.a "result") in a tangible form, the world graciously providesyou stepping stones.2)
Share your intentions
with yourself and others. This is the firststep in manifesting your intention. Read it, draw it, blog it, voice it…getit OUT of your mind and into the world.3)
Make your intention measurable
and detailed as much aspossible. Sometimes it is humorous how life will grant you a wish, butin a different form. In the past, I've shouted at the sky with my fist inthe air, "What I
really
meant was...!"4)
Keep limits out
of your mind when creating your intentional result(ie." I don't know how...; I won't be able to...; "They'll laugh at me...")and stand in anunlimited belief system.5)
Believe in yourself.
If you don't believe in yourself, sharing yourown intention with others will not be believable. They won't believe youand the world won't support it.6)
Find the purpose
behind your intention and start living thatimmediately. Ultimately, what you want is what you already have. Yourintended result brings you hope that a certain satisfaction will befinally be experienced (ie. sense of belonging, love, peace). This maybe true, but it's a path leading to temporary satisfaction. Be what youwant to be and witness yourself enjoying the journey just as much asthe destination. Be the change you wish to see, startingright at thismoment.7)
Pay attention
to every resource available, rather than thoseresources not available (ie. I don't have the money, time, patience, etc).
