ersion 2010.1.1 of the MSC SimManagerEnterprise Release Guide contains:
MSC SimManager Enterprise (SimManager) is adedicated solution for modeling and executingengineering simulation studies. SimManagermanages simulation data and processes andcreates a complete pedigree of information soengineers know exactly how a particular studywas performed, what the results are, or how itcompares with other similar studies. Thisempowers engineers with the confidence to makeknowledgeable decisions that lead to true productinnovation.The Web user interface guides engineers toquickly navigate data relationships, conductsimulation activities, compare results and performmany other key engineering tasks. The system isdesigned to alleviate the engineers from low-value-added tasks so they can spend more time oncritical engineering decisions. Key stakeholderscan quickly view critical information, collaboratewhen required, and make timely decision withconfidence.SimManager 2010.1.1 represents majoradvancements in the user interface andfoundational application to provide muchimproved standard functionality and usability.Significant attention has been placed onimproving the user experience by providing a newparadigm of user interaction. Emphasis has beenplace on providing an intuitive user interface thatrelies on dedicated widgets to present theinformation and functions in a logical andintuitive manner. This complements thetraditional navigation tree and provides a morenatural flow for performing work in the system.Many new features and enhancements have beenadded to SimManager 2010.1.1 including:
New User Interface:

restructuredand re-skinned, the UI features customizablewidgets and a modern look and feel.
Configurable Home Page:
Home pagewidgets can be personalized, providing userswith immediate access to key information.
Reconfigured SODs/MODs:
Redesigned
 
Single- and Multi-Object Displays display keyinformation and quick launch access to taskscommon to the target objects.
Search Workspace:
The Search Workspaceencapsulates all search paradigms into a single

the fast, intuitive application of filters, quicklylocating desired objects

Build Search
‟
 enables conditional searches on all objecttypes. Any combination of search techniquescan be saved as templates for use by others.
Navigation:
A configurable navigation tree isone of several navigation options available inSimManager 2010.1.1 and is available from theNavigation tab of the main interface. Thetabular display of retrieved data can befiltered and sorted by column.
Pedigree and Process Viewer (Audit TrailViewer):
Improved technology enablesdynamic control over displayed information.Pedigree can now be displayed in a separate,dedicated workspace.
 Server Side File Selection:
When importingdata (models, input decks, results, etc), aserver side file selection option (files readableby the server) enables faster uploads.
External Read-only Vault:
An external read-only vault can be configured which allowsSimManager to reference its data withoutcopying it to the SimManager vault, resultingin faster performance.
 Study:
Formal studies of product performancecan now be performed on multiple variantsand multiple scenarios. Performance of amodel relative to established targets is easilyreviewed in a performance dashboard.
 Work Request Framework:
A work requestframework supports templates that can becustomized to customer-specific work requesttasks/activities.
Multi-Profile Support:
The User Profile to beapplied during the current session can beselected from, a list of available profiles in theOptions Page.
Administration Workspace:
All informationand actions required for administrating usersand projects, assigning roles and profiles, andconfiguring the portal are accessible in thenew Administration Workspace.
User Database Authentication:
Userauthentication (user names and passwords) isnow stored in the database and administeredvia the user interface. This is the default out-of-the-box configuration in-lieu of anLDAP/Active Directory system.
Monitors:
User and process statistics (userslogged, process running queued, etc.) can bemonitored from within the AdministrativeWorkspace.
Custom Action Builder:
Applications can bewrapped directly from the web interface andregistered with SimManager for execution.
Object Type Configuration:
Object types canbe created or modified from within the webinterface and activated in the system.
Online (hot) Configuration Updates:
Serverconfigurations can be updated, edited,published, and activated without restartingthe server.
Non-functional Enhancements:
Many newprocess execution, expression language anddatabase enhancements have beenimplemented to improve the overallrobustness and performance of the system.
New Documentation Wiki:
SimManagerdocumentation is now provided via an onlineWiki. This eliminates the static nature of thepaper-based documentation and allows thedocumentation to be updated betweenproduct release cycles.SimManager Enterprise 2010.1.1 is an update toversion 2010 and requires a new installation if youhave 2010 or a previous version installed. If youdo not need or use the particular fixes that arenoted below, it is not required to upgrade yoursystem. The following is a list of notableenhancements or known issues that were resolved:
