ROSE MIN - THROUGH TIMEBook 1: The Celestine Chronicles2006 _____________________________________________________________  The holy fires of Heaven burnedIn the hearts of those who learned, That happiness gained but not fatedCould bring sorrow and pain that hath created. And in the desperation that broughtActions that they had wrought, Those whose will they had foughtCould never grant peace that they sought. For time was all they have leftAnd there they lurk in shadows in theft. That through time they will be Together at last with everlasting peace. _____________________________________________________________ PrologueDig . . . Dig . . . Dig . . . The smell of the stale earth permeated his nose, delightingat the scent of moss and the excitement added anexhilarating sense of thrill brought about by the currentstealth. He shivered in anticipation, almost rubbing his handstogether like a child. The craftiness of the plan was carefully thought up. Healmost patted himself on the back.Looking up, he could see that everything would be donesooner than he had expected. He applauded the tenacity of his minions. They were all excited. Of course, there had been a littlegrumbling when he picked up those who would go with him in this oh-tooimportant mission. He wouldn’t tolerate their show of disrespect though. Theyknew well enough what would happen to their sorry selves if they disobeyed him.

His wrath would be the last they would be unfortunate toexperience. His reputation will be proven true if some demonstration wasdone. He was not someone to trifle with. He earned everytitle called to him alone. The scoundrels would know betterthan challenge his authority. He guessed he would have to show them his appreciation bygiving them a well-earned vacation if everything goes wellwithout a glitch. That will settle the wagging tongues behindhis back. He’d been weary of those for a long time now.He could almost feel the power . . . Entering his bloodstream, stroking his every sense and making him delirious with want. His wisheswere a breath away. His hands itched to touch it . . . To control it . . . To wield it forhis own glory. The fools above thought that their strongholds wereinvincible . . . Not! Ha–ha–ha! There’s always a flaw. It onlytakes a cunning mind to find out what and where. The power – it calls to him . . .No one could understand the ecstasy of wanting somethingand finally being able to grasp it fully and admire it for thebeauty and the power it held.It was something more precious than anything he hadwished before. Then, a pang of hate took over him in a sudden realization.Someone does know what he was feeling right at thatmoment. And he would stop at nothing to get it from him. Hewas bound to fulfill that one’s every wish, much to hischagrin. He almost let out a shout of frustration. He’s just a servant after all.One mightier than he would seize control of it and hecouldn’t do anything but give in to the will of the mighty. He gritted his teeth as he bellowed his outrage. His minionstook the brunt of his vicious hate as he whipped his staff and struck one of his minions in t

he back, making the others hurry up in the digging whilewails of pain pierced the air.Whatever happens, he cannot hide it to where it was obviousto be discovered. If only he could find a way how and where he could . . .* * *OnePresent DayDamn! There has to be some thought up reason to make thesituation justifiable or elseshe’ll start pulling hairs . . . The hair of the person next toher. If he qualified being called a person, that is.All she knew was that he’s not mortal. But that’s about allshe knew abouthim. Of course, he’s probably the most handsome man she’dever seen in her entire life, which confounded her.It should be easy. Heck, everything should be easy if she’d just stuck to theplan. She’s now screwed beyond salvation. She let out a deepbreath of exasperation. Not once did she come out of an assignment that needs todevise a backup plan. She should be efficient. That was expected of her asalways. She prided herself as being an agent of the Order of Grigorithat gets the job done without a sweat.Guess she had to reevaluate herself on that. She’d alsobetter prepare herself for being humiliated in front of thewhole Council. If Ysem could get wind of this, he wouldn’t let her havepeace ever again. That thought troubled her more than the whole troop of marid hunting them and perhaps was on their trail right atthat exact moment.
