The plot of Real Steel may be mechanical but therobots really come to life! You can bet yourshiny metal ass this father and son tale will havea happy ending and at least one robot will bedrinking an oily de-cappuccino as his head bitesinto a hydraulic-powered knuckle sandwich.
One Word Movie Review: Mechanical
 Real Steel 
opens with everything youneed to understand the theme of thismovie: vast farmland, wind turbines,guitar-strumming folk song and a big,chunky International Harvester vandriving along a deserted back countryroad. This heartfelt father and sonstory is all about technology displacingour traditional jobs; thus the dirtfarmer harvesting the wind as the robots box forour amusement.The folk song

” sets the mood for Charlie
Kenton, played by Hugh Jackman, driving theopen roads from one carnival to another to fighthis robot boxer against all comers.

Charlie is an ex-boxer, now retired as robots havereplaced him in
the ring. He’s
driving a beat-uprobot to fight a real bull at a country fair, anInternational Harvester truck (now part of 
 Navistar) but the old “IH” symbol on the hood
 makes you think this ancient brand has found anew life in this future world.By the end of this fantasy tale, we know hiscomeback will be triumphant, his road will neverbe lonely again and technology is only aspowerful as our ability to harness its power withour own ingenuity and determination.Before this tear-filled ending, we watch twotogether-apart-together relationships struggleagainst the odds: Charlie and his son Max and
