McKendree to host Bible Quiz Bowl in 2010
A fun way to fellowship, meetnew friends, and mostimportantly - learn the Bible!
One of the first questions from newpastor Stephen Handy upon comingto McKendree in June 2009 was
“What if McKendree were to host acommunity-wide Bible Quiz Bowl?!”
To answer that question, McKendreeis aggressively putting together plansto host a Bible Quiz Bowl some time inthe early portion of the secondquarter of 2010.
“We’re looking to launch the event inearly April”
communicationscoordinator Kevin Sparkman states.
“We will begin announcing how to sign up and form teams, how toaccess the study material based onthe prospective questions, and laythe general ground rules for theevent.”
Details are still being finalized for thequiz bowl. It has yet to be determinedif the bowl will be in a tournamentformat that will span multiple daysand events, or if it will be just a one-day contest. To ensure that this is a community-wide experience, one of theproposed rules is to have at least oneperson from each team be someonethat is not a McKendree Churchmember or someone not activelyengaged in our church community. The intention behind the quiz bowl isto provide an opportunity to learnmore about God’s Word in a fun andhealthy competitive environment. There may be one team to answer correctly the most, however everyonewins in this event! If you have any ideas that you wouldlike to share with us regarding theBible Quiz Bowl, we’d love to hear them:Contact Ruth Baggett:615.271.2600info@mckendreetoday.com
