Paradise Now!
From Stephen Handy
Jesus is alive! What a grand andshocking surprise to thosedisciples and others. Not manybelieved that the resurrection ofJesus ever really happened. Notbecause of the mentions ofdisbelief, but more from themeaning of the resurrection. The word “resurrection” never did mean “disembodied bliss.”Furthermore, in the NewTestament itself, the word“resurrection” does not mean just “life after death.”Resurrection is about a newlyembodied life. With thatunderstanding, we can haveresurrection now on earth! The simplest way to envision newlife is to hear Jesus’ words fromthe cross to one of the thieves,
“Truly I tell you, today you will bewith me in Paradise.”
(Luke23:43)Come and experience paradise, the earthly resurrection of your new life in Jesus on this Sunday,April 4

Day Care Consignment Sale
http://consignMcKendree.blogspot.com
Our childcare program staged its firstdowntown sale last fall, offering workingparents the chance to shop near theworkplace for great stuff while alsopermitting McKendree Day Care workingparents the opportunity to consign for profit. The sale was so successful that thecenter decided to make an even bigger splash with an up-coming spring sale!April 8-10, from 10a - 5p, expect incredibledeals for young families! The sale coincideswith The Southern Women’s Show heldacross the street at the ConventionCenter, so we will have thousands ofeager shoppers literally steps away. As abonus, from 3p. - 5p on Saturday, items willbe marked half price. The sale is housedon the second floor of our CLC.We are still accepting consignors (up until3/31); the $10 consignor fee is waived for daycare parents and church members. We offer a 70/30 split which means thatconsignors keep 70% of the sale price!Proceeds from the sale will be used tooffset the day care’s operating budget.Without a super lucrative sale, the center will unfortunately have to raise child carefees by $5/week/child beginning July 1
st
.We are also accepting donations of itemsto sell. Folks who donate are not requiredto sort and tag items (one of thechallenges of consigning) and will receivea letter documenting their charitable, tax-deductible gifts to the center.(Continued on Page 3)
