Are you ready for the 4th of July?
No, no, no, Nixon is not the one. Wasn't he a vegetarian?
Initially I had trouble imagining Nixon jotting down a recipe for his favorite recipe for barbecue chicken, until I realized where this must have come from. I’m sure that it must have happened as a lark; too burdened by the stress and anxiety of the Watergate Coverup, Nixon, Ehrlichman, Haldeman and Lindy sat down in the Oval Office to trade their favorite recipes.
And, I would still like to know if this goes with a Watergate Salad?
Later they must have had a change of heart and thought that the whole Recipe thing sounded a bit weak. Not to worry, they could erase the evidence and thus we have an explanation for the infamous “18 minute Gap.” My only question is who broke ranks and leaked, deep-throat like, this recipe? My guess would be that it was Liddy, he always was a “every man for himself kind of guy.

Does this go well with Watergate Salad?
