Toestablishhomeworkcriteriaforteachers,parents/guardiansandstudentswhichwillincreasetheeffectiveness
of
instruction
for
students."Homework"shallmeanthoseassignmentsgiventostudentswhicharetobepreparedorcompletedoutside
Of
theschooldayHomeworkshallbeassignedregularlytostudents
by
teachersinanamountconsistentwithbestpracticesasevidencedintheeducationalresearch.Itshallbeapurposefulandcongruentpartoftheinstructionalprocess.
It
shallbeevaluated
by
teachersinamannerthatprovidestimelyfeedback.And,atthemiddleandhighschoollevels,homeworkshallcountasapartofthestudent'sgradefortheclass/courseconsistentwiththerelationshipofhomeworktostudentlearningandoverallstudentachievement.TheSuperintendentshallprepare,distributeandadministerregulationsgoverninghomework.Theregulationsshallinclude:

Purposeandimportanceofthehomeworkassignment;2.Roleoftheteacher
in
homeworkassignment;
3.Roleofthe
stU-eent
inhomeworkassignment;4.Howparent/guardianmayassistinthehomeworkprocess;5.Homework
intire
elementaryschool;6.Homeworkinthemiddleschool;and7.Homeworkinthehighschool.

Studentlearningandachievementisacomplexandcontinuousprocesswhichisnotlimitedtoschool.Homeworkpermitsthestudenttopracticeskillslearnedduringthescboolday.expandthelearningtodeepenthestudent'sknowledge,andbeintroducedtonewcontent.Furthermore,researchshowsapositiverelationshipbetweenmoderateamountsofhomeworkandachievementforstudentsatthesecondarylevel.Asthestudentadvances?throughthegrades,homeworkassignmentsshouldincreasegraduallyincomplexityand
