What is a house church? We are used to thinking of church as a building, but how does the Bible portray the church? Interestingly, the Bible never uses the word “church” to describe a building; instead, it gives us the picture of the church as a family. Like a family, there are spiritual mothers,...

Oremus scribbled: After re-reading the document this morning, I felt I had to make some minor adjustments. What the document does not say! My commitment to Jesus Christ as personal Saviour at the age of 17, is that I could not at that time stand the Roman clergy, neglecting to preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their sermons were nothing else than “telling people off”, in spite of letting God speak through His most precious “Living Word.” Nevertheless, I felt God’s call in Roman Catholicism at the age of 7, expressing my wish to become a priest. My obvious turning to Protestantism caused for a lot of trouble at home: “persecution” I would have said at that time. Going to Great Britain for 18 months, saved me from all family trouble, where I got baptised by immersion in a Baptist Church, Haydon Park, Wimbledon. That was the best time of my life. I wanted to stay in UK, but my six-month permit was since long expired, and had time to leave within so much hours. Meanwhile, in addition, I attended evening courses in the London Bible College, then at Marylebone Road.(They moved much later at Northwood). Ever since I remained faithful to the London Bible College, today the London School of Theology, renowned all over the world. Returning to Belgium, with my savings in UK, I paid my college fees at the Brussels Bible Institute. I was, then, for religious reasons kicked out by my parents. In my pastoral work, I have always been an evangelical minded person. My life is based on the “Word of God”, nothing more, nothing less. I despise modernism and liberalism. The Word of God is as true today, as it was yesterday. We are living in a changing world, but the Word of God remains steadfast forever. The adversary, ‘Satan’, is his name tries to destruct the “Constitutional Church of true believers in Jesus Christ”, but he will not go that far through your and my faithfulness to Jesus Christ. Let us hold fast to the precious 'Word of God', as nothing else prevails. Let us read and study the Bible always, as a way of praying, next to our prayers. Christian living is praying without ceasing.
