I taught biology in secondary schools before moving to the Superior School of Education at Instituto Politécnico at Santarém. During the last years I was Head of the Sciences and Mathematics Department, coordinator of Basic Education Teachers' Degree, trainer of inservice teachers and Vice-President of the Institute. Presently, I'm Professor at the Institute of Education at the University of Lisbon. I supervise Ph.D. and master students in the field of science education, ICT integration in schools and teacher education.
