ownarbitraryone.Thedenialofstandarddataprotectionrightsisalsoconcerning.Thismeanscandidatescannotknowifinaccurateormaliciousreportshavebeensubmitted.Thisleadsontothepseudo-scientificinterview.Theletterofrejectionclaimstohaveusedthetesttodeterminesevensubjectiveissuesobjectively.Theseare:•Energyandcommitment•Campaignleadershipandmotivation•Conviction•Mannerandattitude•Depthandintellect•Communicationandabilitytorelatetopeople•Commitmenttoinclusionanddiversity

Allofthesearefundamentallymattersofopinionanditisillogicaltousethemformulaically.ItisworthnotingthattheCandidatesdepartmentplaceslittleweightontheonenumericjudgementofcandidates,theactualvote,preferringitsownprejudice
toevidenceispeculiar.Theprocessequallyfailstoinvestigatefullyacandidate'sperformance.Reportsare
receivedfromtwoprofessionalsfromwithintheParty-theregionaldirectorandlocal
agent-butonlyonevolunteer.InanareawherethePartydidbadlyoveralle.g.
SomersetandWiltshireagainsttheLibDemsthereisanobviousmotiveforthe
professionalstoexculpatethemselvesattheexpenseofcandidates.Failingtoreceivereportsfrommorevolunteersmeansthiswillnotbebalanced.OnceagaintheCandidates'departmenthasbehavedwithgenerallypoormanners.
PeoplewhohavespentyearsfightingseatswerenotgiventhecourtesyofatelephonecallandIheardofmysister'sresultinthelobbybeforeshehadbeennotified.
SubsequentlytheChairmanofCandidatesfailedtomeetmysistersendinghersidekicks
tothemeetinginstead.Asweareapartyofvolunteersthisbehaviourissimplynotgoodenough.TurningmorespecificallytoAnnunciata'scasetheinformationshehasreceivedfromherdebriefconfirmedthefailingoftheprocess.Annunciatawasaccusedofbeinganationalratherthanalocalcandidateignoringthe
factthatmostofthenationalcoveragee.g.aninterviewwithTatler,hadbeeninstigated
bythepressofficeandtheNancyMoggstorycamedirectlyfromthethenLeaderoftheOppositiontotheEditoroftheMailonSunday(inathreewayconversationwithmy
father).TherecentcoverageofAnnunciata'srejectiondidnotcomefromherwiththe
exceptionofonearticlewhichshewrote.TheinitialSundayTimespiecewasbriefedby
CentralOfficeaccordingtoourfriendsinthepress.Thedebriefparticularlyfocusedontheinterviewratherthanevidencefromthecampaign.Thus,afterspendingnearlyfouryearsasafulltimecandidateAnnunciata
receivedalowscoreforenergyandcommitment.Givinguppaidemploymenttoserve
thePartysurelyindicatesahighlevelofcommitmentandcanvassingtwentythousandpeoplesoundslikeenergy.AnnunciatacertainlyworkedharderthanIdidasIremained
infulltimeemployment-theonlypersonIthinkworkedharderwasoneCharles
