I am for legalizing pot. I believe it would have a snowball effect. Jobs would be generated to process it. Income tax from those jobs. Sales tax. Smoke shops would increase sales. Another issue is these men who are in jail/prison because they sold pot. I would love to know how many there are. Those men could be out and be an asset to sociality. Paying taxes instead of costing tax payer money. It would generate money for good free rehab centers. There are people who lost a good job because of Random drug test. Or people who wants to smoke but loses out because of the fear in losing their jobs. This year when I vote for President, you bet it will be the one who most likely will be for legalizing Pot.

to eric dec 25, 2007-harvard-why would you say all those things about something you obviously have no clue about? i'm not saying pot is good for everyone but some people really need it to live their daily lives. i'm 30 yrs old and i've smoked pot almost every day since i was 14. i have bipolar disorder and crohns disease. i also have a beautiful daughter and a husband who i love very much but life for us is very hard. pot calms me down and allows me to function normally. i'm sure it's cause i've smoked for so long but it really helps for alot of reasons. i smoked cigarettes for 12 years and i'm so glad i stopped spring of 2004. that's what was bad for me!!! thank you-neisha from pa

pot aint a drug. it dont do **** but get you high. you can still funtion on it. and the only reason why it is illigal is cuz they cant tax it. same with prostitution. it isnt controled by the government so its not aloud. i say **** the government. im toke up all day and not pay taxes on it. suck on that.

The biggest anything to hit America would be the legalization of Hemp, Sativa... all of it. It would overwhelm the market Food Fuel Fiber Grows faster than cotton - the hearty plant can be grown in harsher conditions... this government has their heads in their on this commodity. okay, im about to turn 17 but the whole deal about weed, come one. we can't legalize it because it can't be taxed. if we can tax it then sure i'm down for it. i would love to have it legalized and not have to get caught or worry about it. in my opinion, i think there is so much crime with under age drinking and smoking pot because the age is too high and weed doesn't even do anything to you. it's safer than alcohol, it messes up your liver plus it tastes bad so why waste money and time on something that takes a alot of to get drunk? weed on the other hand, you smoke a joint and you feel it after 1-2 hits. i'm totally for legalization. the whole thing is rediculous. it shouldn't be as big of a deal that everyone makes it. "omg weed is so bad for you, i can't believe you did that. it's illegal you know." yeah yeah yeah blah blah. who cares. it's like parents telling their kids no. when you want to do something and they say no don't/didn't you want to do it even more because when authority says no, it makes you want it more so when they make weed illegal and make a big deal about it, people want to keep doing it. i have more opinions on why i think so many pot heads are in jail but i'm not going to start anything, i'm just stating my opinion. when you come home from a long day at work or fight with someone or just want to, wouldn't it be nice to just go in your house and roll a joint and not have to worry about anything or anyone getting mad or getting you in trouble. main point-legalize it. it's not worth this whole big deal. just get it done. please.

So.... Pot still doesn't kill you. It doesn't matter why. EVEN if it did kill you, so what? People have the right to kill themselves, at least they do if we live in the free country so many people claim we do. If we can't, then we live in a statist country, where we can't even make the most important decision about our own self... Living or Dying. Think about it. If I must live on your terms I think I would rather die on mine.
