The Poverty Outreach Working Group (POWG) is a learning community for SEEP members who are interested in:
1) Understanding the unique conditions of people living in chronic poverty;
2) Designing microfinance products and enterprise development services that are optimally suited to the unique needs of this market segment and that, especially in combination with non-economic assistance including safety nets, have the potential to help them reach a higher level of economic self-reliance;
3) Developing effective and scalable delivery systems and programs that reach chronically poor households with such products and services; and
4) Assessing client poverty and using poverty data to improve poverty outreach, track client progress out of poverty and aid in new product design.
