Reader Review: Unmanaging Knowledge (FREE pdf)
By Christine Prefontaine. “Unmanaging Knowledge,” an article by Charles Ehin in the May edition of Smart People Magazine, has a few nuggets I found helpful. He’s describing characteristics of an open organization. I don’t believe in open all the time. I actually get along quite well with rules and structure. They’re important. (Well, as long as they’re smart and don’t get in my way. Then it’s time to ignore them or put up a fight.)

By Victor Newman. Years ago, in the early ‘90s, I remember watching a video of a Tom Peters’ sweat and rant guru session, where he wandered about a floor of anxious senior managers clustered around circular tables – anxious because he might ask them a question that might expose their unfitness to manage their organizations, and senior because only a senior manager could justify the cost of the ticket.

By Carol Kinsey Goman. I believe in ghosts. Not only do I believe in ghosts, I’ve seen how they haunt individuals, teams, departments, and entire organizations around the world. And nowhere are these workplace ghosts more insidious than in the area of collaboration. What I’m calling “ghosts” are those out-dated attitudes and behaviors about collaborative knowledge-sharing that still haunt corporate halls and factory floors.
