Just like the book of Revelation, the book of Proverbs touches on all sixty-six books of the bible. As we go verse by verse in the book of Proverbs we not only find wisdom, butdivine promises from God to His people. Proverbs chapter two tells us about God’sdivine protection for those that walk uprightly, and teaches us the importance of discretion and good judgment.As we go through life, we will encounter hateful and evil men who will try to provokeand deceive us into leavening the paths of the righteous, to walk in the ways of darkness,and will even persecute those that boldly stand on the word of God.
II Timothy3:12
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
II Timothy3:13
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and beingdeceived.
II Timothy3:14
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of,knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
II Timothy3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to makethee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Throughout scripture, we see religious systems being portrayed as women in the bible. InProverbs Chapter two we encounter the “strange” woman who is a representative of thefalse religious system that turns people away from God and promotes spiritualfornication. But as evil men and seducers wax worse and worse, deceiving, and beingdeceived, The Holy Spirit anticipates every single heresy that may arise concerningscripture, so that the saints of God are thoroughly furnished by the sword of the Spirit,which is the word of God, to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is inChrist Jesus.
II Timothy3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
II Timothy3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
As we go verse by verse in Proverbs chapter two, we will also cover Jesus’ letter to thechurch in Thyatira in Revelation 2:18-29.
Proverbs 2:1
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide mycommandments with thee;
 
Proverbs 2:2
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and applythine heart to understanding;
Proverbs 2:3
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thyvoice for understanding;
Proverbs 2:4
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as forhid treasures;
Proverbs 2:5
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, andfind the knowledge of God. Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God:
I Corinthians2:1
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speechor of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
I Corinthians2:2
For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, andhim crucified.
I Corinthians2:3
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
I Corinthians2:4
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man'swisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
I Corinthians2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought tosay:
Luke12:11
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers,take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
Luke12:12
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
We do not presently get brought into the synagogues, but we do sufferfor righteousness' sake:
I Peter3:14
But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
I Peter3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meeknessand fear:
I Peter3:16
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers,they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth comethknowledge and understanding.If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all
 
menliberally:
James1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Proverbs 2:7
