Chapter 19
Proverbs 19:1
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse inhis lips, and is a fool.
A man may be poor, but if he is a man of honor, and integrity, and a man thatkeeps his word, then he is a man that is valuable to all men. Better is thepoor that walketh in his integrity:
Mark 12:41
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into thetreasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Mark 12:42
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make afarthing.
Mark 12:43
And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Mark 12:44
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had,even all her living.

Proverbs 19:2
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he thathasteth with his feet sinneth.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, Iwill also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the lawof thy God, I will also forget thy children.

and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. Feet that be swift in running tomischief is one of the seven abominations in Proverbs 6:16-19.
Proverbs14:29
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spiritexalteth folly.

Proverbs 19:3
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth againstthe LORD.

 Jesus’ interesting comment to the Pharisees about their foolish and perverseway of thinking:
 
Matthew 23:24
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
and his heart is resentful and frets against the Lord.
Revelation
And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him

to scorch men with fire.
Revelation16:9
And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
Revelation16:10
And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom wasfull of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Revelation16:11
And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, andrepented not of their deeds.
Proverbs 19:4
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from hisneighbour.
Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend.
Proverbs 14:20
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
Note: The word “wealth” is used thirty times in scripture:
Proverbs 19:5
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall notescape.

Proverbs 19:6
Many will entreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend tohim that giveth gifts.
Proverbs 14:20

Proverbs 19:7
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friendsgo far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
 The royal law: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye have respectto persons, ye commit sin.
James2:5
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
James2:6
But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
James2:7
Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
James2:8
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour asthyself, ye do well:
James2:9
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law astransgressors.
Proverbs 19:8
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepethunderstanding shall find good.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: God is a rewarder of them thatdiligently seek him.
