Chapter 3
Proverbs 26:1
As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honouris not seemly for a fool.
Proverbs 3:35
The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
It is considered folly to honor fools:
Ecclesiastes10:5
There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth fromthe ruler:
Ecclesiastes10:6
Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
Luke 6:26
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Luke20:46
Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in themarkets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Luke20:47
Which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receivegreater damnation.
 
Proverbs 26:2
As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, sothe curse causeless shall not come.

Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the wholeearth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; andevery one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
Zechariah5:4
I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of thethief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remainin the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stonesthereof.-------

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which Icommand you this day:
Deuteronomy11:28
And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, butturn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods,which ye have not known.
Proverbs 26:3
A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod forthe fool's back.
 The horse and the ass can be trained.
James3:3
Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
James3:4
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yetare they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
James3:5
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great amatter a little fire kindleth!
Isaiah1:3
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
Isaiah1:4
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that arecorrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel untoanger, they are gone away backward.
 The fool has to be punished.
Proverbs10:13
In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Proverbs 26:4
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou alsobe like unto him.Avoid dealing with fools on their level:
Romans16:17
 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contraryto the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.-------
I Timothy
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain

 babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.-------
II Timothy2:23
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.-------
Titus3:9
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about thelaw; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Titus3:10
A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
Titus3:11
Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
Proverbs 26:5
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise inhis own conceit.
Verses four and five seen to contradict each other, but it shows the doubleminded way fools think:
Luke7:33
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath adevil.
Luke7:34
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and awinebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Luke7:35
But wisdom is justified of all her children.
 There is no rest when it comes to arguing with a foolish man:
Proverbs 29:9
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is norest.

Proverbs 26:6
He that sendeth a message by the hand of a foolcutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
“Drinking damage” is a metaphor for rage.
Deuteronomy18:20
But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I havenot commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, eventhat prophet shall die.
Deuteronomy18:21
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORDhath not spoken?
Deuteronomy18:22
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophethath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
