 Of Marriage1.Marriage is to be between one man and one woman; neither is it lawful forany man to have more than one wife, nor for any woman to have more thanone husband at the same time.

2.Marriage was ordained for the mutual help of husband and wife,

for the increase of mankind with a legitimate issue,

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenishthe earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
 
and for preventing of uncleanness.
I Corinthians7:2
 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let everywoman have her own husband.
I Corinthians7:9
But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
3.It is lawful for all sorts of people to marry, who are able with judgment togive their consent;

yet it is the duty of Christians to marry in the Lord;
I Corinthians7:39
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband bedead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
and therefore such as profess the true religion, should not marry with infidels, oridolators; neither should such as are godly be unequally yoked, by marrying withsuch as are wicked in their life, or maintain damnable heresy.
 
Nehemiah13:25

4.Marriage ought not to be within the degrees of consanguinity or affinity,forbidden in the Word;
Leviticus18:1
