SYNCHRONOUS MIRRORING
Synchronous data mirroring handles real-time mirroring o I/Os allowing ortwo or more redundant storage nodes to store data simultaneously. WithStarWind’s Synchronous Data Mirroring, two distributed storage nodes areupdated simultaneously.
AUTOMATED FAILOVER AND FAILBACK WITH FAST SYNC
StarWind’s Active-Active High Availability architecture uses Synchronous DataMirroring with Automated Failover which ensures that storage continuesoperating properly in the event o ailure. This technology permits you tocongure an Active-Active 2 Node storage cluster which ensures a highlyreliable and ault tolerant storage system. Active-Active High Availabilitymanages synchronous mirroring and automated ailover on a per-volumebasis. Because the volume’s identity never changes, even in the event whena node or a site ails, your server applications experience continuous dataavailability without a single point o ailure. Additionally, StarWind has theFailback technology with Fast Synchronization which perorms rapidsynchronization back to the original storage node ater the system ailure. REMOTE REPLICATION
Remote or asynchronous replication is important or storage disasterrecovery. It allows you to copy or backup your critical storage data over theWAN to a secure remote site. Replicating data to an osite location allowsyou to be up and running during a disaster. Your data can be recoveredwithin a short recovery point with minimal disruption as you ail over to aremote site with condence that your data is intact.
LIVE, POINT-IN-TIME SNAPSHOTS
StarWind’s Snapshots capture a volume’s state at any point in time. You canperorm the Snapshots manually or have them scheduled. These live,point-in-time Snapshots are instant and capture a consistent state o thedata you have stored on the SAN. I you need to recover an entire volume,you can roll back to return the snapshot o that volume to any specicpoint-in-time. And i you want to restore individual les or olders, you cansimply mount a snapshot and retrieve that data. Almost 90% o data is lostdue to human error but your storage will be 100% protected with StarWind’sSnapshots.
FASTER DISASTER RECOVERY
With asynchronous replication and snapshots, application downtime anddata loss become things o the past. Synchronous and AsynchronousData Mirroring and Remote Replication enables volume/site ailover andrecovery or uninterrupted storage operations and 24/7 business continuity.Continuous Data Protection provides automatic or manual Microsot VSScompatible (Volume Shadow Copy Services) snapshots, volume cloningand incremental backups with unlimited number o rollback points.
THIN PROVISIONING
 The Thin Provisioning eature oers very efcient disk utilization.Administrators no longer need to predict how much space they will need orto purchase disks ahead o time. For maximum SAN efciency, StarWind ThinProvisioning allocates only as much space as is required or data written onthat volume.
