HIV is spread through unprotected
sex with an infected person. Frominfected mother to baby, during
pregnancy, at birth, or
through breast milk.

Sex is the main way
through which HIV is

Some children get HIVfrom their mothers during
pregnancy, delivery andbreast feeding. But if a
pregnant mother test forHIV, she can get medicineto protect the baby from
infection.
Sharing sharp instruments with aninfected person can transmit HIV.Avoid sharing sharp instruments.
