(More) In contrast to the Texas School Survey of Drug and Alcohol Use, which is a school district-level survey, the Texas School Survey of Substance Use is a biennial statewide survey that is also conducted by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Public Policy Research Institute (PPRI) at Texas A&M University. The statewide school survey monitors trends in substance use among public school students and serves as a basis of comparison for local school surveys which are conducted annually for various school districts throughout the state.
