Report Title
"When I think about life for people in Karen State, it reminds me of a Buddhist legendI heard as a child growing up in Toungoo District. The legend is very old and it isabout a city in India called Vissali. The city had faced three major calamities andmany people and animals had died. Because there were so many dead the city wasfull of monsters, ghosts and demons. The monsters attacked those who remainedand there were many more deaths, the people were terrorised by the monsters. It isthe same now for our people in Karen State living under the SPDC, they all live in aconstant “State of Terror.”
