DR. ASHIN PANNYISSARA(DHAMMA DUTA)
Bhikkhu Ashin Pannyissara was born on23
rd 
January, 1964 at Nyaung Waing Ward of Thaton in Mon State, Myanmar. His parents are UKyaw Hlaing and Daw Myint Kyi. He is the el-dest of the five offsprings.After answering the Matriculation Exam,he became a novice with the blessing of VenerableBhaddanta Pannajota who was his Preceptor.He studied Buddhism at Dhamma DutaTawya in Belin Township of Mon State where hepassed the Pahtamagyi level. Not only was he en-gaged in learning but also underwent pratice. Forhigher Buddhistic studies, he went to Mandalay andSagaing. Later, he proceeded to Srilanka and India.In 1988, he attained a B. A Degree fromthe Mandalay University.In 1989, he was conferred the SasanajotipalaDhammacariya title.In 1990, he attained the SasanadhazaDhammacariya Degree.In 1997, he attained the M.A from SriLanka.In 1999, he was confered the Sasanahitaganavasaka Acariya title.In 2006, he was cofered a Ph. D Degree fromIndia.After the passing away of VenerableDhamma Duta Sayadaw Gyi, he resided at DhammaDuta Tawya Monastery undertaking Sasana dutiesin the capacity of a lecturer, writer, patron andmeditation instructor. He gave Dhamma- Talks atDhamma Duta Centres, and many places in statesand Divisions where he was invited to give DhammaLectures and conduict meditation courses.At present, he has founded the DhammaDuta Meditation Centre at 10

mile, nearHanthawaddy Golf Course, Bago. Furthermore, heis engaged in constructing religious buildings wherethe Yogis within the country and from abroad canpeacefully perform religious deeds.
