Former emergency medical technician Tyler Kelly studied environmental science at Lehigh University. Dual majoring in environmental studies and science, technology, and society, he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts. As a student at Lehigh, Tyler Kelly gained valuable knowledge about United States environmental and energy policies. He also learned a great deal about sustainable and socially responsible business practices by attending sustainability conferences held by nonprofit organization The Conference Board Inc. in 2010 and 2011. During his sophomore and junior years at Lehigh, Tyler Kelly interned at Helios Solar Energy LLC, a company in Bridgewater, New Jersey, that installs and manages solar energy projects throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Kelly undertook a variety of duties while at Helios, including acting as a point of contact for clients and contractors and participating in solar heating installation projects. He was also selected to take part in an industry meeting on New Jersey energy policies held in Trenton, New Jersey. Prior to interning with Helios, Tyler Kelly worked as an Associate at Toys R’ Us. Concurrent to his positions at Helios and Toy R’ Us, he maintained responsibilities with the Martinsville Rescue Squad as an Emergency Medical Technician. Employed with the squad on a volunteer basis, he served the City of Martinsville, New Jersey, in this capacity from 2007 to 2011. In addition to the knowledge of sustainable business operations and energy policy he garnered at Lehigh University, Kelly also possesses a working understanding of Mandarin Chinese. A Division I track and field athlete during college, he continues to pursue his interest in nutrition and fitness. In his spare time, he enjoys reading books on sustainability and the environment by authors such as Paul Hawken and Amory Lovins.see more
