 An Innovation in Automobiles
 Tesla Motors is beginning to look like the future of Automobile technology,manufacturing, and business. First formed in 2003 in San Carlos, California thisauto company has quickly grown in the last two years. Tesla Motors is usinginnovative solar and battery systems to revolutionize the auto industry. Tesla Motors is named for electrical engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla

. Hewas an inventor, electrical engineer, and scientist. Among his life's many inventionsare the induction motor and alternating-current power transmissions. These are twoof the fundamental items that make a Tesla Motors car possible. Without the visionof Mr. Tesla many years ago this company would not exist. Tesla first production car started selling in early 2008. Even before the firstvehicle was on the road they had a waiting list of over 600 persons. In January of this year they started to take orders for the next generation model expected to hitstreets in July. Tesla Motors also is working on a new production sedan model aswell.Besides the main focus on the automotive market they also plan to develop,and sell solar panel systems for use in residential homes. The goal of these units isto help offset costs of charging the Tesla electric cars with a home charging system. This is indeed a unique concept where the auto manufacture is also developing itsown source of fuel and making it available to its clients.

These partners included many heavyweights from thecomputer, internet, and technology industries. The company is governed by a CEOand Board of Directors. . Tesla Motors has opened two dealerships that are both in California. Theyhowever have several service centers across the country and intend to build more. The electric cars have much less maintenance issues then a traditional gas or dieselpowered vehicle.I think that Tesla Motors is on the front lines of the auto industry. While thetraditional auto makers are being bailed out, and going bankrupt this company isexperiencing substantial growth. I believe the innovative use of technology willdrive this company to a very successful future.
