The techport site does not seem to be a good URL Is there somewhere else I can get the tatoo info for a HP machine? Thanks, Gene erastber@tampabay.rr.com
Need a user & password to get into techport. Also need password to unlock zip file. Can anybody help please
Want to learn more about this password activation myself. I'm going to replace my Foxconn mobo from my HP Pavilion A6437C with a refub mobo out of A6500F machine. The tattoo procedure seems to be quite simple to perform. The password procedure a differant story.
It doesn't help to get into techport, because once you download the zip file, it is also password protected. this is the message: "To unlock the encrypted zip files, first obtain a password from your HP Regional Support contact or Retail Support Center."
anyone every get the password for techport i need it bad having all kinds of problems cant get pc to recover thank you
Call 1-800-HPINVENT and they should be able to figure something out for you
I purchased a licensed software when after installing it recognizes the machine ID and sends it to the software manufacturer. Then it sends me back a license key to put in the program and then the programs trial version is ended. Because I got a new HP laptop the software manufacturer said sorry, we cannot issue you a new license key, it is only good for one laptop. He thinks I'm using it on multiple laptops when in fact the first laptop it was used on was bought back by HP (too many problems) and they sent me a new one. Is there a way for me to know what the tattoo number is on the new machine, possibly by going into the BIOS. I believe the number being recognized is 18 characters.
