year for our Community Garden. This year we want to make plots availableearlier for those interested in cool weather crops. We will be reassigning plots to formergardeners by the first of March and to new gardeners by early April. Remember, there is norental fee. In keeping with the spirit and tradition of community gardening, please donate aportion of your bountiful harvest to the Catholic Charities Food Bank. There will be a designatedarea to leave your donation, or you may deliver it directly to the food bank. On the bulletinboard attached to the shed, there will maps with directions to the Catholic Charities Food Bankand hours of operation.
1.
Each gardener is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of their garden plot(s)and the paths immediately surrounding their plot(s). This includes weeds, as theseeds travel to neighboring plots, and remain in the soil for years. Failure to do somay result in the Community Garden staff reclaiming it for re-assignment. You mayreceive a friendly reminder if your plot becomes unkempt. Subsequent failure toimprove maintenance could result in plot forfeiture.
2.
Only seasonal (annual) plants may be planted, no perennials, shrubs, or trees areallowed to remain in the garden over the winter.
3.
Each gardener must have something planted in their garden plot(s) by the end of May,2010 and maintain it for the remainder of the garden season. Gardeners and visitorsmay harvest vegetables and flowers from their assigned plot(s) only.

Garden Coordinators will have regularly scheduled monthly work times, which will beposted on the garden bulletin board. Gardeners, however, may tend to their plot(s)any time of day, 7 days a week.
5.
A limited number of tools, hoses and watering equipment will be available in thecommunity garden storage shed for use during Garden Coordinators’ scheduled worktimes. All tools must be cleaned and returned before leaving the plot(s) area.Gardeners may use their own hand tools, but only the coordinator may use a tiller, mower, and trimmer. If you need this service, please request it.
