Introduction to graphic standardsat the University of Northern Colorado
This manual defines parameters for the visual identification of theUniversity of Northern Colorado to all its audiences. Adherence to theseguidelines will enable all university employees, students, and vendorsto present a cohesive and unified identity. The consistent application ofthese guidelines will ensure the establishment of a strong and memorablegraphic identity.
The University of Northern Colorado visual identity system
The University’s visual identity system consists of the University ofNorthern Colorado’s signature (the logotype and mark) as well as criticalelements such as typography, the approved color palette, fonts, and appro-priate usage requirements. This manual provides a cohesive overview ofvisual identity standards and corresponding applications. Examples areincluded within each section to illustrate proper and improper usage. If youhave any questions regarding this manual or any of its applications, pleasecontact University Publications, 970-351-2331.The University of Northern Colorado’s mark and the alternative initials markare trademarks of the University. It is prudent for the University to establish acode of standards regarding usage to ensure appropriaterepresentation, pro-tect against overcommercialization or unauthorized use, and to secure ade-quate compensation through authorized use by various suppliers and vendorsof the University of Northern Colorado.This standards manual supplants any previous graphic standards guide-lines for the University of Northern Colorado’s visual identity.
 All printed, interactive, or visualmaterials produced by or for the Universityof Northern Colorado must contain proper identification of the University, using theapproved signature. Please submit mock-upmaterials or comps to UniversityPublicationsfor review before production.This will enable University Publicationsto maintain a clear understanding of campus materials and ensure adherenceto graphic guidelines.
